Since 1988 Lazzaretto Nuovo has been housing many activities organized by
Venice Office of Archeoclub Italia, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of cultural property all over Italy. Its Office in Venice was founded in 1985 and it’s dedicated to Luigi Conton, a pioneer of lagoon archaeology.
To date, thousands of children, students and archaeology enthusiasts from all over the world have attended the many work camps that take place. All such activities are part of a wide-range program that focuses on the preservation and recovery of Lazzaretto Nuovo. The camps provide an opportunity to explore the fascinating world of archaeology, and allow the participants to interact with archaeological experts in a unique and magical environment.
