SUMMER DIDACTIC CAMPS

SUMMER DIDACTIC CAMPS
Since 1988 Lazzaretto Nuovo has been housing many activities organized by Venice Office of Archeoclub Italia, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of cultural property all over Italy. Its Office in Venice was founded in 1985 and it’s dedicated to Luigi Conton, a pioneer of lagoon archaeology.
To date, thousands of children, students and archaeology enthusiasts from all over the world have attended the many work camps that take place.  All such activities are part of a wide-range program that focuses on the preservation and recovery of Lazzaretto Nuovo. The camps provide an opportunity to explore the fascinating world of archaeology, and allow the participants to interact with archaeological experts in a unique and magical environment.
Didactic and research camps are organized in association with the Italian Ministry of Arts and Culture, the Region Veneto Monuments and Fine Arts Office, Nucleo NAUSICAA, Centro Internazionale di Ricerche Archeologiche CIRA (International Centre for Archaeological Research), the French association Rempart and the European Forum for Heritage Associations. The camps are also organized in partnership with Universitá Ca’ Foscari of Venice.
